Trump states he "would rather not" impose tariffs on China.

In the second part of a Fox News interview, former President Donald Trump stated that he "would rather not" impose tariffs on China, acknowledging that tariffs represent the U.S.'s "one very big power" over Beijing. Trump also revealed plans to reach out to North Korean leader Kim Jong UN, calling him "a smart guy."

Meanwhile, a U.S. judge has temporarily blocked Trump’s executive order aimed at changing birthright citizenship, which was scheduled to take effect in February.

On the third full day of his presidency, Trump ordered the declassification of files related to the deaths of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr. He also issued pardons for 23 anti-abortion activists while signing a series of executive orders in the Oval Office.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump suggested that Canada could avoid tariffs if it chose to "become a state" of the United States.
