Hamas releases four Israeli women soldiers in the latest exchange of hostages.

The Israeli military is clearing the streets surrounding Ofer Prison in the occupied West Bank in preparation for an anticipated prisoner release, as reported by a CNN team on-site.

Near the prison gate, two small Red Cross vehicles are visible, accompanied by military escorts, while two larger vehicles are stationed within the prison complex.

Hamas has announced that Israel is expected to release approximately 200 Palestinian prisoners on Saturday. This group includes 120 prisoners serving life sentences and 80 others with lengthy sentences as part of the ceasefire and hostage exchange agreement.

However, according to an Israeli military spokesperson, Hamas has not fulfilled its commitment to prioritize the release of civilian hostages under the deal.

“Hamas didn’t fulfill its obligation to return civilians first. We will continue to insist on the return of Arbel Yehud, as well as Shiri and the Bibas children. We are deeply concerned about the Bibas family’s fate and demand clarity on this issue,” IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated during a Saturday press conference.

Israel had been advocating for the release of Arbel Yehud, a 29-year-old woman abducted from her home in Kibbutz Nir Oz, as part of the exchange. The Bibas family, including the youngest captive, infant Kfir Bibas, has drawn significant attention.

On Saturday, Hamas released four female soldiers. Hagari confirmed they had been reunited with their families.

At this time, the parents are meeting their daughters at the reception facility in Re’im. All necessary medical and logistical preparations have been completed to ensure their arrival. We are ready to provide them with the appropriate care and support,” Hagari said.

He expressed gratitude to international mediators for their efforts and emphasized the expectation that they ensure Hamas adheres to the agreement.

“IDF forces remain deployed and committed to protecting Israel’s citizens,” Hagari concluded. “Our mission will not be complete until every hostage is brought home.”
